Garbage and Recycling
Republic Services is the Village's provider of solid waste services, which includes the collection of refuse, yard waste and recycling. The guidelines discussed here apply to single-family residences of incorporated Downers Grove.
Collection Schedule
This maps shows collection days by area. If you're not sure of your collection day, call the Village at 630.434.5500.
Guidelines
- Items must be at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection day, but no earlier than 12:00 noon the day before.
- Empty garbage cans, cart and recycling containers must be removed from the curb by 12:00 midnight on the day of collection.
- Bags, cans and bundles of material may not exceed 33 gallons in volume and 50 pounds in weight. Contents of cans may not extend above the rim .
