2023 Neighborhood Resurfacing
Project Summary
This annual program includes grinding and resurfacing, crack sealing, small-scale patching, and pavement preservation.

Sod condition is continuing to be monitored until 30-day establishment period. All other punch list and clean up activities have been completed.
Construction Notes
Residents whose driveway access will be affected by repairs will receive door hanger notifications with additional instructions regarding on-street parking, as needed.
The Police Department will not issue tickets for overnight on-street parking during this project.
All concrete work is weather permitting.

September 8, 2023
- The landscaping contractor returned to town the week of 9/4 to begin prep work for disturbed areas. It is expected that sod installation will begin on Friday, September 8th and continue into the week of September 11th.
- The contractor will also resume addressing punch list and other cleanup items. Sod establishment/survivability is the responsibility of the contractor and residents are not required to water the sod.
August 25, 2023

- Sod is unable to be placed due to temperature restrictions; landscape restoration will resume when specifications permit sod to be installed, likely in September. - The week of 7/3, in-road utility structures were adjusted on 7/6 and 7/7 in the area north of Ogden and east of Main Street [(Lindley, Douglas (Ogden to N. Dead End), Highland (Ogden to N. Dead End), 41st St (Highland to Washington; Earlston to Fairview), 40th St (Elm to Fairview), Earlston (39th to 41st), Glendenning (39th to Ogden Ave), Sterling (39th to Ogden Ave)].
- The second layer of asphalt paving in this area is tentatively scheduled for Monday 7/10 and Tuesday 7/11. This work is weather-dependent and subject to change. "Fresh Oil" signs will be posted prior to paving and motorists are reminded to drive slowly through the construction area.
- Pavement striping will take place after all asphalt work is completed.

- The week of 6/26, road grinding and patching was completed in the area north of Ogden and east of Main Street [(Lindley, Douglas ( Ogden to N. Dead End), Highland (Ogden to N. Dead End), 41st St (Highland to Washington; Earlston to Fairview), 40th St (Elm to Fairview), Earlston (39th to 41st), Glendenning (39th to Ogden Ave), Sterling (39th to Ogden Ave)]. The first layer of asphalt in that area was also paved.
- Workers will be raising the in-road utility structures on Wednesday, 7/5 and Thursday, 7/6 in preparation for final surface asphalt paving.
- The next layer of asphalt paving in this area is tentatively scheduled to take place beginning on Friday, July 7th and will likely span three days of paving work. "Fresh Oil" signs will be posted prior to paving and motorists are reminded to drive slowly through the construction areas. This schedule is weather-dependent and subject to change.
- Landscapers covered prepped areas with straw blanket for erosion control. - Asphalt paving was completed in the Carpenter/59-63rd area [Carpenter from (59th to 63rd), 60th Pl, 60th St, 61st St (Brookbank to Main), Lane Pl (61st to 62nd), Wallen Pl, 62nd (Middaugh to Brookbank), 62nd Ct, Middaugh Ct, Middaugh (60th to 63rd), and Arnold Ct] as well as the 61st/62nd/Ridge Ct/Plymouth/Hillcrest area.

Asphalt patching will take place once road grinding is complete, after which the first layer of new asphalt will be paved. - The final layer of asphalt paving in the Carpenter 59-63rd area is tentatively scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 21st.
- The final layer of asphalt paving for the mainline streets off of Dunham Rd (61st, 62nd, and Plymouth) is tentatively scheduled to take place on Thursday, June 22nd.

- The week of 6/12, concrete work was removed and poured in the area north of Ogden and east of Main St [(Lindley, Douglas (Ogden to N. Dead End), Highland (Ogden to N. Dead End), 41st St (Highland to Washington; Earlston to Fairview), 40th St (Elm to Fairview), Earlston (39th to 41st), Glendenning (39th to Ogden Ave), Sterling (39th to Ogden Ave)].
- Landscapers completed sod restoration in the Downtown area (Carpenter, Gilbert, Forest, Curtiss, Lane Pl, Summit, Ross Ct). Sod restoration continued in the Carpenter/59-63rd area [Carpenter from (59th to 63rd), 60th Pl, 60th St, 61st St (Brookbank to Main), Lane Pl (61st to 62nd), Wallen Pl, 62nd (Middaugh to Brookbank), 62nd Ct, Middaugh Ct, Middaugh (60th to 63rd), and Arnold Ct]. Topsoil and landscaping preparation continued in the 61st/62nd/Ridge Ct/Plymouth/Hillcrest area.
- Road grinding was completed in the 61st/62nd/Ridge Ct/Plymouth/Hillcrest area. Underground utility crews lowered the in-road utility structures in the area North of Ogden Avenue in preparation for road grinding. Paving and pavement striping was completed in the Downtown area.
- The week of 6/19 will tentatively have road grinding in the area north of Ogden and east of Main Street and asphalt paving in the southern neighborhoods. The road will remain open for road grinding and paving activities; they are moving operations that only require a temporary lane closure as the work proceeds through the area. Prior to final surface paving, underground crews will locate and raise the in-road utility structures to the final grade. "Fresh Oil" signs will be posted prior to paving and motorists are reminded to drive slowly through the construction areas.

- The schedule for paving the first layer of asphalt has been modified from the previous alert.
- The cul-de-sac areas are scheduled to be paved with the first layer of asphalt on Tuesday, 6/20 (Wallen Pl, Middaugh Ct, Arnold Ct, Hillcrest, Ridge Ct).

June 14, 2023
- Paving in the downtown area took place on Wednesday, 6/14.
- The contractor is planning on paving the first layer of asphalt on Thursday, 6/15 on the following streets: 60th Pl, Wallen Pl, Middaugh Ave, Middaugh Ct, Arnold Ct, 62nd St from Plymouth to Dunham, Plymouth St, and 61st St from west Village Limit to Dunham Road.
- The contractor is planning to return on Friday, 6/16 to complete the first level of paving in the cul de sac areas (Plymouth Ct, Hillcrest, Ridge Ct).
- The weekly construction update for 6/19 will contain additional information regarding the schedule for future construction activities.
June 12, 2023
- Rain in the forecast is impacting the contractors schedule. Paving in the downtown area originally scheduled for Tuesday, 6/13 has been delayed to tentatively take place on Wednesday, 6/14.
- The first layer of asphalt paving on Wallen Pl, Middaugh Ave, Middaugh Ct, Arnold Ct, 62nd St (between Carpenter and Brookbank), and the 61st/62nd/Plymouth/Hillcrest/Ridge Ct area originally scheduled for Wednesday, 6/14 has been delayed to tentatively take place on Thursday, 6/15.
- Concrete pour in the area between 39th St and Ogden/Main to Fairview originally scheduled for Tuesday, 6/13 has been delayed to tentatively take place on Wednesday, 6/14.

June 9, 2023
- The week of 6/5, road grinding was completed in the Downtown area (Carpenter, Gilbert, Forest, Curtiss, Lane Pl, Summit, Ross Ct) and continued in the Carpenter/59th-63rd area [Carpenter from (59th to 63rd), 60th Pl, 60th St, 61st St (Brookbank to Main), Lane Pl (61st to 62nd), Wallen Pl, 62nd (Middaugh to Brookbank), 62nd Ct, Middaugh Ct, Middaugh (60th to 63rd), and Arnold Ct] as well as beginning the 61st/62nd/Ridge Ct/Plymouth/Hillcrest area.
- The first round of paving started in the Downtown area and in-road utility structures were raised to meet the final surface paving grade. Landscapers began topsoil and sod restoration in the Downtown area.

- Concrete work was also completed in the Downtown Area the week of 5/22. Landscapers began prepping for sod restoration in the Downtown Area as well as in the Carpenter/59th-63rd area [Carpenter from (59th to 63rd), 60th Pl, 60th St, 61st St (Brookbank to Main), Lane Pl (61st to 62nd), Wallen Pl, 62nd (Middaugh to Brookbank), 62nd Ct, Middaugh Ct, Middaugh (60th to 63rd), and Arnold Ct].
- Concrete removals and pours continued in the 61st/62nd/Ridge Ct/Plymouth/Hillcrest area.

May 19, 2023
- The week of 5/15 had concrete removals and pours in the 61st/62nd/Ridge Ct/Plymouth/Hillcrest area as well as the Downtown Area (Carpenter, Gilbert, Forest, Curtiss, Lane Pl, Summit, Ross Ct).
- Concrete was also poured in the Carpenter/59th-63rd area [Carpenter from (59th to 63rd), 60th Pl, 60th St, 61st St (Brookbank to Main), Lane Pl (61st to 62nd), Wallen Pl, 62nd (Middaugh to Brookbank), 62nd Ct, Middaugh Ct, Middaugh (60th to 63rd), and Arnold Ct]. Underground subcontractors adjusted drainage structures in both areas as well.
- Crews are planning to frame sidewalk corners on Friday, May 19, weather permitting.
- Sidewalk pours in all three neighborhoods are tentatively planned for Monday, May 22. Underground subcontractors will begin lowering in-pavement utility structures in the Downtown area to prepare for road grinding.
- Road grinding is presently scheduled to begin in the Downtown area on Tuesday, May 30. Removal crews will continue in the 61st/62nd/Ridge Ct/Plymouth/Hillcrest area on Tuesday, May 23rd. Concrete crews will then follow in each neighborhood later in the week to pour new concrete.
- Landscapers are scheduled to begin restoration prep work in all disturbed areas the week of 5/22.
May 12, 2023
- Rain has again impacted the contractor's schedule. The week of 5/8 had concrete removals in the Carpenter/59th-63rd area [Carpenter from (59th to 63rd), 60th Pl, 60th St, 61st St (Brookbank to Main), Lane Pl (61st to 62nd), Wallen Pl, 62nd (Middaugh to Brookbank), 62nd Ct, Middaugh Ct, Middaugh (60th to 63rd), and Arnold Ct]. Inlets and other utility structures were adjusted in that area as well, and curb was also poured in that neighborhood.
- The week of 5/15 will continue on Monday 5/15 (and possibly into Tuesday 5/16) with concrete removals on the south and west sides of the streets in the 61st/62nd/Ridge Ct/Plymouth/Hillcrest area.
- Concrete removals will also begin on the remaining sides of the street in the Downtown area (Carpenter, Gilbert, Forest, Curtiss, Lane Pl, Summit, Ross Ct) on Tuesday, 5/16. This removal work is all weather-dependent and is subject to change. Concrete crews will then follow in each neighborhood later in the week to pour new concrete.
May 5, 2023
- Pavement was removed on the south side of 62nd St., west of Dunham. Sidewalks were poured in the Downtown area (Carpenter, Gilbert, Forest, Curtiss, Lane Pl, Summit, Ross Ct) as well as the Carpenter/59th-63rd area [Carpenter from (59th to 63rd), 60th Pl, 60th St, 61st St (Brookbank to Main), Lane Pl (61st to 62nd), Wallen Pl, 62nd (Middaugh to Brookbank), 62nd Ct, Middaugh Ct, Middaugh (60th to 63rd), and Arnold Ct].
- Concrete removals will continue next week on the opposite sides of the street in the downtown area and the Carpenter/59th-63rd area.
- Concrete removals will begin next week in the 61st/62nd/Ridge Ct/Plymouth/Hillcrest area, one side at a time, on Tuesday and/or Wednesday.
April 28, 2023
- The week of 4/24 had some work delays due to weather. Curbline utility structures were adjusted in the Downtown area (Carpenter, Gilbert, Forest, Curtiss, Lane Pl, Summit, Ross Ct) on 4/24, and in the Carpenter/59th-63rd area [Carpenter from (59th to 63rd), 60th Pl, 60th St, 61st St (Brookbank to Main), Lane Pl (61st to 62nd), Wallen Pl, 62nd (Middaugh to Brookbank), 62nd Ct, Middaugh Ct, Middaugh (60th to 63rd), and Arnold Ct] on 4/25.
- Concrete was poured in the Carpenter/59th-63rd area on 4/26 and 4/27 and some curb was poured in the downtown area as well on 4/27.
- The contractor is planning on prepping and pouring sidewalks in both areas the week of 5/1. Removals on the opposite sides of the street in the downtown area are also tentatively set to begin the week of 5/1.
April 21, 2023
- The contractor began concrete removals in the downtown area (Carpenter, Gilbert, Forest, Curtiss, Lane Pl, Summit, Ross Ct) on 4/18 and continued on 4/19.
- A crew poured some curb on Thursday 4/20 but the rain prevented additional concrete work from getting completed. On Friday 4/21 concrete work resumed in that area.
- The residents in the Carpenter/59th-63rd area [Carpenter from (59th to 63rd), 60th Pl, 60th St, 61st St (Brookbank to Main), Lane Pl (61st to 62nd), Wallen Pl, 62nd (Middaugh to Brookbank), 62nd Ct, Middaugh Ct, Middaugh (60th to 63rd), and Arnold Ct] whose driveways will be impacted by concrete work were notified on 4/20 and non-driveway concrete removals started in that area on 4/20 as well, with the driveway curbs being removed starting Friday 4/21. Concrete saw cutters are expected to continue in that neighborhood and then move to the Plymouth/61st/62nd/Ridge Ct/Hillcrest Rd neighborhood.
- Once the concrete in the downtown area has cured and residents are returned to their driveways, the opposite sides of the street in the downtown area will have concrete removal and pours.
- The underground subcontractor will be adjusting curbline structures on Friday 4/21 as well. The concrete work is weather dependent.
April 14, 2023
- Saw cutting of concrete began in the downtown area (Carpenter, Gilbert, Curtiss, Forest, Ross Ct, Lane Pl, Summit) on Friday, 4/14. Saw cutting will continue next week further south (Carpenter St. from 59th-63rd area; Plymouth/61st area).
- Concrete removal and pour in the downtown area will begin the week of 4/17 as well and are tentatively starting in the further south neighborhoods on Friday, 4/21.
- An underground subcontractor will be starting curbline storm inlet adjustments on Friday, 4/21 in the downtown area as well.
April 7, 2023
Notifications were mailed to residents in the affected project areas. The contractor plans to begin work on Monday, April 18, beginning with a small crew the will be cutting curb and sidewalk identified for replacement. Traffic signs barricades will be delivered in preparation. In addition, the underground subcontractor will begin installing filters in the inlets throughout the project areas for inlet and pipe protection during the construction work.
March 31, 2023
The pre-construction meeting for this project is scheduled for April 7th, at which time project schedule will be better established. Residents in the resurfacing areas will be mailed notification letters with additional information following this meeting.

The contract was awarded at the March 21, 2023, Village Council meeting. A pre-construction meeting is tentatively scheduled for April 7, 2023, after which residents in the resurfacing areas will receive notification letters with additional information regarding upcoming construction.
